There are so many ways in which we can help the persecuted Christians around the world. We can provide for them (physical, material), we can pray for them (spiritual), we can send literature, bibles to them (Resources), we can be advocates who will gather people together to come up with ideas and plans to aid those who are suffering or, we can be the very people to travel to where they are to strengthen, encourage and be with them. Whatever it is, give all that you can give, help in all the ways you can, whenever you can, wherever..

We are setting up a Champions’ Programme that gathers fellow Christians who have a heart for our persecuted brethren. This programme will train them to become advocates who will build awareness in the groups they are socially linked to,  bring to their attention the current events in the other parts of the world and build them up to withstand persecution in the event that they or their communities are persecuted or for them to be able to build other people, who are facing persecution, up. Ever reflected on what being a Christian means to you?

As we go around living life as it is, are we really pursuing what God wants or what we think/perceive that God wants. It may seem naturally right to pursue what God wants and not what we think He wants, however, we can subtly fall into the trap of boxing God up in our own world and into thinking that our thoughts are naturally inclined toward God’s thoughts.

Does God truly want a beautiful church with wonderful worship, budgets in the green, well-known leaders and good-looking ushers or a church, that is, the parishioners themselves, united in one front, putting aside personal agendas and differences, passionately pursuing an intimate relationship with God? As we journey along this narrow path together, remember those whose paths are more roughed up than ours. Those whose lives hang by a thread just to become a believer and those whose hearts have wandered because of trials and tribulations.

Remember also that in the last days, difficult times will come.. For people will be lovers of self and will do immoral deeds far exceeding the vilest that we have ever seen. We all face persecution. Be it physical, emotional, political, or mental persecution. It is one matter to flee from it.. Another to stand firm in the course of it. Let us be united as one front.. To help each other, encourage one another and to brace whatever is to come together as a family.
